African Drum Ensemble
The African Drum Ensemble was established in 2001. This unique ensemble performs on instruments made in Accra, Ghana. All of the wonderful drums were crafted by Alfred Owusu, a master drum maker. Membership in the ensemble is open to all JC students. No music reading skills or previous percussion experience is required. The ensemble performs at the end of each semester in a variety of venues, including schools and a concert on campus. In the past, the African Drum Ensemble has performed with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, and the Jackson Chorale.
