Safety Data Sheets

A Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is a vital document providing information on the potential health effects of exposure to chemicals or hazardous substances, along with safe handling procedures.

As per OSHA standard 1910.1200(b)(4)(ii), employers are required to maintain copies of SDSs received with incoming shipments of hazardous chemical containers. Additionally, if sealed containers of hazardous chemicals arrive without an SDS, employers must promptly obtain one. Employers must also ensure that SDSs are readily accessible to employees in their work areas during each shift.

Access to Jackson College’s SDS database is available to employees and students at any time, ensuring easy retrieval of essential safety information.
